Big News

After two wonderful visits, to two very good schools, my son has decided to swim at The Ohio State University next Fall.  He is so happy and we are beside ourselves that this terrific program wants our son.  The  Head Coach is a tremendous man who wants to graduate respectable men.  Swimming is important to him, but academics and respectful behavior are just as important.  He treats his swimmers like family and they treat each other that way, also.  I am amazed that my son is even on their radar, but they have been impressed by him, so we are doing something right.  So a million thanks for all your positive thoughts, from months ago til now.  He left that horrible abusive coach in March, he went to his High School Coach who is an amazing woman.  She has helped to heal him on every level and he has made amazing progress in the  seven months he has been with her.  Now, if all continues to go as planned, next August he will be in the hands of a man that respects his swimmers and trains them well.  I think our prayers have been answered.

Now onto my kitchen.  What a mess.  The contents of my laundry room are now in my dining room.  My fish tank is on the back corner of my table, can you find it?
My kitchen is in my living room.  Well we don't actually have a living room, we have a place for my piano.  Every surface of my house is covered in a layer of dust from when the tiles were broken up and removed.  I look like I live in a bad episode of Hoarders.  I expect the television crew to pull up any time now and stage an intervention.  I can hear them now, "Lady, you just have to get this mess under control !!!!!"  I couldn't agree more.

Happy weekend everyone!

Congratulations to your son!! I'm sure you are all happy and so relieved to have made a decision. I love that the coach's goal is 'building' fine young men. That's what it's all about. One of the reasons my son is going to the college he is, is that his coach wants to create young me of good character, good students, and then finally good baseball players. As a mom, I know he is in good hands.

*C*O*N*G*R*A*T*U*L*A*T*I*O*N*S*!* to your son and your whole family on his bright and wonderful future! He'll be in the same state as my daughter. :-)

I know what it's like to have a kitchen remodel - we had a temporary kitchen set up in the living-room on the dining table for weeks. The toaster was very important! Hang in there, it will soon be divine!

((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Yaaaaaay! Goodness and love prevail...and when we step through the messes in life, it is only then that we can truly recognize the tremendous value of goodness and love. It's so wonderful to hear that your son will be enveloped in a loving, respectful spot! Along the path of life, I have always found, whilst gazing backward, the doors that slammed shut in my face and bruised me were forcing me to find another way to get out (or in) - and that other way was ALWAYS better! And reconstruction...well, I have not one single positive word to say on that front! We went through it in 1994 and there was almost a divorce in our family from all the stress of it! Be strong! Hugs to you, my bloggy friend...Annette

I just had to come back and share something. I am on Twitter and I follow Marianne Williamson (a very spiritual being and wonderful author if you aren't familiar with her). She just tweeted a thought that was TOTALLY what I was trying to say in my last post to you. Coincidence? I think not. She wrote: "Every valley is prelude to a mountaintop". OMG, Meredith...how perfectly eloquent! Yes! That is SOOOO true.

Congratulations!!!!!! I am so happy for your son and for your whole family. You got a Buckeye in the house!! ;-) It is infectious, as will see. I am a firm believer in that everything turns out the way it is supposed to. Though the path was less than pleasant, it has brought him/all of you to this great place. Again, congrats!
I'm sure that goes a long way in taking your mind off of your Rays - whom I was rooting for. And my poor Yanks. Just wasn't their year. Now I'm done with baseball ;-)
Have a great weekend.
hugs, Beth

Woo-Hoo...What special news today. He is going to be thrilled to go to OSU. They are one of the top swimm schools. Pat yourselves on the back. Job well done.

I know what it's like to have the kitchen in the living room. I also had the bedroom in the sunroom while that bath was done. You will be so happy when it all done.

He will be an Ohio Buckeye now!!!!! It is a wonderful school, my doctor and my old doctor boss both graduated from there and of course according to them, there is no finer place for higher learning. I hope this is the beginning for many good things for your son and that now you can exhale a big sigh of relief that all things have worked out for the best. Remodeling always involves a mess, and that fine layer of dust everywhere is the pits. Kinda makes you wonder just where to start to even clean it up....Brush attachment and a good wet/dry heavy duty shop vac is a good investment if you don't already have one. The suction is so powerful it will suck up everything if ya aren't careful, LOL
