Christmas Gifts

I have been making Christmas gifts here and there for several months now.  When I am done I throw them in a plastic bin in my closet.  I just keep adding and pile one project on top of another.  I think it is time to see what is in there don't you?

My bin is a bit overloaded.  Lets take a peek.
Wow, there is more than I remember.  The ones I am not giving away for one reason or another have been taken out of the pile, so lets see what is left.
 Four scarves.
 Six cowls.
 Two shawls.
A very dark picture of the remaining cowl I have to finish.  This is my car project and has not been worked on for some time.
And my last scarf, a drop stitch pattern with chunky yarn.  I should be able to finish this in no time.

It will be so fun to wrap these all up and send them on their way for Christmas.

How are you doing on your Christmas projects?

Let's see... I have to blankets done. And two grinch owls with two to go. But, as far as my projects for the year. Well, you know most have left the nest and some are still hanging out on chair to look at. Haven't pick it up for two days, I've been messing around here with the red and green and trying not to get it all out. I've been keeping Claud's garland in mind all day long. I think I might give it a try. I need a mindless project right now. By the way, I'm going to your yarn shop when I'm down there in Mar/Apr. that's for sure. Beautiful. And I really love the last one. Is the kitchen all done and you are back to cooking away?

Meredith, you have done so well with your projects this year......I'm so impressed. There will be many happy, cosy, and stylish people when they open up their treasures. Enjoy this season and let us step back and smell the gingerbread and balsam. xoRobin❅

You're such a good girl! I haven't made anything to give away. But we got new outdoor lights yesterday and now to put them up and finish the decorating inside.. I'm having my 2 sisters, brother and their spouses for a holiday dinner next Friday. Need to get it done!!

I'm doing badly. I have no Christmas projects this year! Only the snowflakes for us and my ongoing crochet throw.

They look beautiful, sister!

It sure looks like you have been busy too. Isn't it great to have things done ahead of time and not feel so rushed? I try to stay ahead of the game but always run out of time no matter how far in advance I start, lol. Who ever receives your lovely hand made items is gonna love you.

Hi Meredith, hope you are well and enjoying the lead up to all the festivities!

Did you have a good Thanksgiving? What a lovel holiday that is, we dont have anything like it here in the UK.

Im so impressed by your organised approach to making gifts - mine is all very last mintue as usual but work has been crazzzzzy - so Im glad all my projects craft-wise are bite size at the moment so I can still enjoy a sense of achievement!

Thanks for all you recent comments and sorry I have been out of the loop of late - teaching sure is a time/effort intensive career!

Hello dearest blog friend...I have a pile too...many cowls and scarves...but then I get thinking about who to send them to - and I'm not totally sure that they'll be appreciated/needed. I seem to get a kick out of wearing them myself. And then there's my daughter. She went to Hobby Lobby with me a couple of days ago as she had a specific desire for a grey cowl and a camel cowl. I've already popped the grey one out for her. Hope to finish the camel one tonight. I'm doing the camel with a pattern that is a bit different...Using double strand of yarn, CH 58, Row 1: sc across, Row 2 and on, sc in the back loop only. Just keep repeating until you have the depth you desire. I've done some of the cowls in the round but not this one. I'll just sew it up the back when I'm done. This pattern yields wonderful ridges. Try it, you'll love it! It's something a bit different from the rows/rounds of DC. Take care, love. And, btw...just in case you forgot...I asked for your address back when you were in the throes of reconstruction and visitors. I didn't hear back in my email - and while I'm fine if you're not comfortable sharing, I just want to be sure it wasn't an oversight. I mean, there might just be a snowman in this request...if you know what I mean. Hugs either way. Annette
