A Christmas Tour

Since I have not been knitting, crocheting or doing anything with yarn.  I thought I would drop in some Christmas pictures so you can think that I have at least been doing something.
Hanging in my hallway.  My favorite St. Nick.
This cloth Santa sits on my wooden rocking cow.
My yarn ball Santa purchased last year.
My felted ball Santa purchased a few weeks ago.
On my mantle is my collection of Santa's.  In Florida we have these huge boxed mantles.  I hate mine.  You see I am a very old soul.  I love old things with meaning.  I fell better around older furniture and houses with character.   I would love a big wooden mantle with a mirror hanging over it.  I would love to decorate it for each season instead of this monster.
I surround myself with antiques and things that have an older feel about them.  People are always surprised when they come in my home because it feels much more like a northern home than one located in the sun state.
This is my hall tree.  A very fun place for me to display all sorts of fun things.  This big stuffed Santa has been with us for 19 years, he is still in pretty good shape even after years of being climbed on and wrestled by two little boys.  To the left are my Grandfather's golf clubs.  He made them himself and taught my father how to play golf with them.

Hope Christmas is popping up all over your home and you are finding sometime to catch your breath in this busy time of year.

Thanks for sharing. I love seeing others decor popping up. We have not put out a whole lot this year, as we will be away. So it's really nice to see. I bet you are enjoying your kitchen being done too. I just posted the prices, I was amazed actually. Carry on decorating... Kate

It looks so much like you, Mer - if you remember, I helped you decorate once during Dad's hospitalization. I love all your Santas. Love you.

Cue music..."It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas..." So many wonderful treasures you have, Meredith! It's all about the memories and the 19 year old Santa that's been used and loved by two growing boys...those are the best kinds of decor - a little dog eared with love. Hugs, Annette

We have so much in common! I also love old houses and furniture. We are having a Christmas dinner for our son and his family this evening - they are going to Los Angeles for Christmas with his wife's family, plus her younger brother is getting married a few days before xmas. We're doing ham, scalloped potatoes, corn casserole and rolls. And presents!

Your Santa collection is wonderful, and you don't even notice the mantle when it's decorated so beautifully!

Thank you so much for the prayers and positive thoughts you continually send our way. :)

You have lovely Santas.

Actually, we don't have Santa in Switzerland, but we have Samichlaus, who visits children and people on the 6th of December.

As you I like my house with a history. It's more cosy than the new houses. These often are very clean and without character.

Have a nice and peacful day

Meredith, your Santa collection is quite wonderful, and I've enjoyed seeing your Christmas tree too.

I too love old things, and whenever I think of my dream home, I often think of homes in New England. I wonder sometimes at why we love the different styles that we do.

All of your knitting and crochet projects are so beautiful. You amaze me with how quickly you make them.

All good wishes to you today.

Take care,

Lena
