A Quick Post

We are heading off to Columbus, OH in a few minutes to go to my son's orientation at The Ohio State University.  Before I left I wanted to leave you with a few photos of my latest projects.

The shawl I made for my friend Amy who is moving away.

It is hot off the loom, the edges have a crochet border, and it was left at her door step.

I am sending this hug she can wrap around herself when she is feeling lonely.

The Cardi Shrug is done.  The pattern is free on Ravelry, by Jennifer L. Jones.

I made mine a bit longer as I am very tall and I did not want to waste this beautiful hand spun yarn.  I like it a lot and just might make another one.

I am usually not a raglan sleeve kind of gal as I have very wide shoulders, but this seems to fit, probably because it does not have long sleeves.

Have to finish packing and catch my plane.  Wish me luck.

Well, done. Have a great time. OH, and by the way, it's hotter up here than down there. And our heat is heading east to OH. This will be such an exciting time. Take lots of pictures of the campus. I hear it's beautiful.

wishing you all kinds of luck! and knitting. I want to get to my cardi shrug but I am making myself finish the scarf first.

Okay: So orientation can be daunting. Don't' write it all down. That's HIS job, meaning the new student. They hear all of it over and over. They get how to use the webistes on line like they know how to steal a sucker from a store....
if they don't get it right away, some other kids does and speaks their language. Collegese.

They will survive You will too. Don't go counting down the days to his leaving with a hanky. Get out the champagne!!!

Ohio State is such a big place. That' wonderful. It prepares him for an even bigger world.

THEY figure it all out. They really do. Just write the checks....

love you!

Mere, that shawl and cardi are awesome! You are a wonderful craftswoman. Hang in there with the son to college thing. I remember taking my daughter to college and helping her set up her dorm room and helping to decorate it. ::sigh:: Time just keeps marching on. That's why I tell people with their kids at home to appreciate the time.. before they fly away. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Your shawl is another winner as well as your cardi. We are scorching here in Ohio. Hope you have a safe trip to and from our state and hope your son does well at OSU. My nephew went there to become a respiratory therapist, loved the city so well that he found a job there and stayed. Hope your son has good experiences here too.

Beautiful shawl and shrug. I do like the caftan look. Very nice! Good luck at orientation. Hubby went to college in Wheeling WV. He has tried to talk our oldest into going to college there or in OH. He says he is thinking maybe of Indiana. Who knows! His high school grades have not been the greatest. Only time will tell. Wishing you all the best. Tammy
