Regula and Star Crazy

Have you met my very wonderful friend Regula?  If you haven't you need to swing on by her blog and get to know her.  Regula lives in Switzerland and is soooooo talented.  She knits, she crochets, she sews and she lives in an amazing farmhouse.  She is kind, and giving, and will welcome you with open arms.  Before you know it you will have an amazing friendship, and you will wish you are sitting beside her drinking hot chocolate and chatting like you have been best friends forever.  Regula sent me this.........

A beautifully wrapped little package, hmmmm...... wonder what is inside.

A little lavender pillow with the most beautiful crochet.  Do you see the heart?  I was so thrilled by Regula's kind gesture I can't even tell you.  Now I have something this amazing woman has made and it is all the way from Switzerland!  Thank you so much Regula, you are so wonderful!

Star table runner number two is half way done.  This is going to be a gift for my wonderful friend Lynda in North Carolina.  Of course I said I wasn't making any gifts this year and then Stitchy started this darn CAL, and now I am hooked!  Literally!  Now I have visions of everyone in my life receiving a table runner, I know I have to get a grip.  Maybe I can not be that productive six weeks before Christmas, but I can finish this one and make lots of star coasters as extra presents.

I am loving this Deborah Norville yarn with the sequins, it is just so perfect for this project.  Joann's is having a 20% off everything crafty sale tomorrow, you might want to check out this yarn if you are thinking about a star table runner.  I should be able to make 19 stars with about 4 skeins, if you want a longer runner buy more yarn!

So this afternoon is all about crochet for me, what are you up to today?

I know Regula well! She sent me hot chocolate and candy last year - Swiss made, of course. Plus a few other goodies. I just adore her.

I still only have one star, I have to get my blanket done first if I can, and I've been sewing baubles decorations....I am currently sitting by the fire regretting leaving my projects in the car and it's too cold to leave the fire...what a predicament!

Hello Meredith

Thanks for the roses!

I got a bit side tracked and put the stars aside after I made one with my first coffee in the morning (not literally, they are still on the dining room table). I watched a movie (New in Town with Renee Zellweger but without any crocheting, hihi), now I am ready for bed.

It's very quiet due to the fog, which is so thick I didn't take the right turn on my way home. I barely knew where I was. You can easily lose direction in the fog without street lights or signs.

Starstruck! That's what you are, Mer!What a lovely gift from a thoughtful friend. I'm knitting up that Debbie Bliss Cashmerino into a pair of fingerless mitts (but they have a thumb, does that still count as fingerless!lol)for a Xmas present, although I'm trying to pretend that Xmas has been cancelled this year but somehow I think I'm hedging my bets!!!Will email this weekend :-) x

I love the red stars! Can you believe I couldn't remember what a CAL was? I'm so knitting focused that crochet didn't even enter my mind! Looking forward to seeing more stars.

So cool to take a break from packing and see what up. Fun of course. Looking forward to sunny TPA. As always it will be a busy time with Scott's whole family, but nice to be in our own rental. This time in the Gulf Harbor area near MIL in NPR. Saving Redington for March again.

Gorgeous star runner Meredith. I love the colour you've chosen. Just got home from a few days in New York and always love to stop at Joann's :-)

I just finished an OSU scarf for my friends birthday and I am thinking about making a shawlette or whatever they are called. Going to try a new yarn called "Amazing". Hope it is easy to work with. Trying to make presents this time of year is too stressful for me. Good luck with your stars and table runners! ~ xo, Patti

Regula is wonderful - and she's starring in two blog posts today! She deserves all the kind words we've said and more.

I went to yarn heaven today - which means the Wisconsin Craft Market, a store in Madison that has an amazing selection of better-than-basic-craft-store yarns but not crazy-out-of-reach-expensive yarns (though they carry some of those too). It was wonderful. I only bought 3 skeins, but would have loved to spend hundreds of dollars if I could.

I am in love with the red stars! They are lovely.

I can easily see you giving everyone one of these for Christmas...they are super fast to crochet...Your Hubby will just have to fix dinner and do the house work while you crochet the days away... :)

Blessings always my dear friend and Happy Weekend, too.

Wow...how generous of Regula. I'll have to go over and meet her. That is such a nice gift. Your runner is looking great and I just love the color. I always have a hard time finding the perfect shade when it comes to red.
I hope you're having a wonderful weekend,
Liz
