Max and more

I had the day off work yesterday.  The family  I work with on Mondays and Wednesdays has the flu.  After visiting there last Monday they all got ill but I got lucky because  I seem fine so far, thank goodness.   But my beautiful boy isn't feeling too well.  So instead of working, I was visiting the vet with Max.  He has a bit of a stomach bug.  Lots of washing of his furry behind has been occurring these past few days if you know what I mean.

After a very exciting visit to the vet (he loves her), we spent some time together.  Max took a nap on my bed as I tried to do more needle felting.

I had gathered these acorns a few days ago on one of our walks, so I decided to felt little acorns to put inside them.  Once again an easy shape, but that is the way you start, easy.

Today after work I have tried some hearts.  Now these are not so easy, I seem to be having a hard time getting it right.  It is a fun learning process, but like most things in life I would like to be proficient at this right away.

I love mixing the colors, like painting with wool.

It is hard to imagine the hearts started like this, beautiful wool fiber.

About a week ago I had my husband help me to bring my sewing table downstairs.  Sewing table?  Yes I know you all seem surprised.  I have had this for years.  I used to have my sewing machine set up in an extra room we had upstairs.  My husband took over the room years ago to exercise in.  It is hard to believe in my big house there is not a special place for me, so I decided to bring this down, move a chair and put it in my bedroom.  It folds up nicely when not in use and I can keep it up when working on a project.  So this is the space I am using to needle felt, not my own studio, but my own table, and that is as good as it is going to get for now.

Hope you are having a great week.

I haven't a clue what felting is or what it entails. I may have to look it up on the computer and see about it. Don't you just love computers and how we can answer just about any question with a few clicks? Hope Max gets to feeling better and you don't get that nasty flu. I've heard it's rough. Love the purple hearts!

Hi, I love your needle felted acorns, and your heart is pretty as well. I love needle felting but have not attempted to make shapes of things. I have seen some awesome animals needle felted. I like to needle felt onto a quilted piece or other fibers and use the needle felting as embelishments
I could use a whole building for a studio I think-lol I just have too much stuff-going to selling stuff on etsy I think Kathy

Hope Max gets better real soon. It's so sad when a pet is sick and they can't tell you where it hurts (although Max seems to have found a way to show you where the problem is!).

I'm sorry Max is not feeling well.. and sorry for you to be washing his furry lil behind as I fully well know what that means.. the only time that Buddy has that is when he eats things he shouldn't. He's on my lap right now, snoozing away, warming my left thigh while I balance my laptop computer on my right one. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Poor Max! Maybe he ate something he shouldn't have? Hope he is better soon! Glad you found yourself a space to create. Love your felting!!!

Hope Max is on the mend. Such a sweetie.

I love the projects you've made. I'm going to see if youtube has something about it, as I've never heard of needle felting and can't quite picture how it's done.

BTW, I ordered the knitting book! I can't decide where to start, but have several projects chosen already. I'm so excited that I could even make a sweater! Who'd a thought?

Kisses to Max - may he feel better soon.

A table of your very own - what crafty riches! :) Your hearts and acorns are coming out beautifully - just think of the fun Christmas ornaments you can make. And little dangly bunting things, and felted pendants, and fun little balls to heap up in baskets....

Poor Max! Our Dug had the same problem a couple of weeks ago, and is doing much better now. Please give him a kiss from me.

LOVE the acorns! The hearts are great too, but I'm a big acorn fan ...

Sure would be nice to have a room to oneself for blissful creating, but even the smallest space or table or loveseat (which is where I do everything) is enough. I love those sweet little acorns. And you did a great job on the hearts, too. Give yourself a big pat on the back. Hugs, Tammy

The felting is looking great - keep going! I've wanted to give it a try...but I think my hubby would put his foot down at yet another craft in the house with so many other supplies already there. lol (And I would have to agree...for the moment...)
Big hugs to Max...I really hope he feels better soon! Nothing sadder than a droopy Golden; it really goes against nature.

Isn't it great to mix things up a bit and make room for a new creative space? I should take a picture of the table my daughter set up in my room the other day for the grands to eat dinner. Now the table is covered with paper crafts : )

I almost finished the hood cowl today! Woohoo!

So sorry Max has been unwell :(

Happy felting, Meredith!

Poor Max, I do hope he feels better soon, if he isn't recovered already. And I hope that it's cooled down for you a bit ... I don't know how you cope with the Florida heat!
