A Winner, PBS, and a Shawl

Thank you so much for your interest in the needle felting giveaway.  I am so thrilled that you seemed excited about learning something new.  I wish I could have sent you all a kit but alas I am not that wealthy.  So here is to Christy of LilBitBrit.  You are the winner!  Christy I have sent you an email asking for your address, please send it to me as soon as you can so I can pop this in the post to you.

My gorgeous BIL Don Sparks is not only a fabulous BIL, he is also a very gifted actor.  He is on the PBS American Experience show tonight called The Poisoner's Handbook.  It airs at 8:00 pm here, and I believe that will be the same all over the US, but check your local listings and be sure to watch.  He went to Prague last year to film this, I can't wait to see him.

And last but not least my first finish of the 2014 year is my last Elise Shawl.  I swear I am done with this pattern after making 6 of these.  This one is for a darling young woman who works with my husband.  She has been very helpful of late and I think she needed a thank you for being so amazing.  She has the most brilliant blue eyes.  I think this will work well with her eyes and fair coloring.

Made with The Fiber Seed, Sprout and a size J hook.  Steam blocked as I have a tendency to do, 450 yards used.  Good-bye for now Elise Shawls, you have been fun, but now I am done.

This was made with stash yarn, a Christmas present from last year.  As you can see over on the left side of my blog I have two new colorful buttons.  I am joining in with Linda for her Stash-Busting for Stashaholics and her Stash-Busting Link Party.  I have acquired a lot of stash of late.  Well with my local yarn shop going out of busniess and having an epic sale can you blame me?  So it is yarn diet time for me and shopping only from stash for the near future. So far I have gone 10 days without buying yarn, can you tell I have a problem?

Congrats to the winner of your giveaway. The show looks neat, I watched the trailer; I love a good mystery program. I'll have to wait until it comes out on Netflix though as we've canceled cable until we move. The color and pattern for your shawl are gorgeous. I'm sure your gift will be appreciated and well received. Have a wonderful day and stay warm. I've heard the cold weather has even made it's way down to FL. Take care, Heather

Ouch....no more buying yarn...that would be alright in concept until someone told me I couldn't and then I'd be having dreams about it,

The Elise is such a pretty pattern...funny that with m run in with shawls they've all been knitted, I think I was put off when I did a crocheted shawl that I kept getting lost in.

Congrats to Christy!

Congrats to the lucky give away winner! It's always fun to learn something new.

Yay! on your BIL being on TV. I am guessing he is the one married to your sweet sister who has the lovely blog? So cool

Love, love, love the shawl and the color. Gosh, it's so pretty.

Hmmm 10 days without buying yarn...you are doing very good. I haven't bought anything YET but the month is no where near being over. I won't buy yarn, but I will buy crochet thread!

Wishing you a lovely day sweet friend.

Hello Mere and hello fellow Stash Buster :-)
I have joined Linda's SB party too! I feel fine at present I just go down another road and avoid walking past the yarn shop
Do I note a shaky tone to your words......is the no new yarn diet getting to you already??

I really love that shawl but even more so the ruffle shawl ...it looks so warm and cosy.
At present I have just finished two makes all from my yarn hoard hoping to be able to post sometime this week about them and the stash-busting effect :-)

Great giveaway!!!

keep well

One more try....I just typed up a long comment and when I hit publish it disappeared and said "error...service unavailable". Weird! I'll copy this one just in case. And, if you get multiples from me, you'll know why. :-)

Anyway...congrats to the winner of your give-away. I bet they'll have lots of fun with that. I wanted to comment on that post but didn't want to enter the drawing because I have LOTS of needle felting stuff. ;-)

The shawl is beautiful! It's on my to-do list. I love that one. It's so fun to make lacey crochet shawls! That's great that you were able to make it with stash yarn! I'm trying to be on a yarn diet too. It's just so hard sometimes to find perfect pattern matches to the yarn and yardage I have.

Hi Meredith,

Thank you so very much for the kind giveaway gift. It will be my sit by the fire in an evening project. As now it is zero.

Certainly warmed my day.

Beautiful color!

Hi, I'm Dee, and I'm a yarn-aholic. I have gone 0 days without buying yarn.

I think I need to follow the link and stash down.

In my defense -- I only bought what I needed to finish two other projects. (Yeah ....that's my excuse, however flimsy! LOL)

Such a gorgeous gift for your husband's co-worker. Hooray for you making so many Elise shawls. I seldom repeat a pattern and am so impressed that you've made so many!

Your journey ends and mine is just starting! The shawl is going well and you are right, I am starting to remember it now except for the ends and the centre stitches which I keep referring to. I think that is a beautiful gift. Thanks for always dropping by my blog. Jo x

I can't believe you made 6. Wow! You've been on a roll. I've got a shawl pattern that I made once, didn't like the yarn I used though, and since it was pretty easy, I'd like to do one again. Just need to find the right yarn. Lucky lady to receive this one as a gift. Congrats to the winner of your giveaway. I've not been creating much lately. I swear, finding some sort of balance in my life is proving to be quite difficult. I really need to not have a full-time job. :) Best wishes, Tammy
