A trip and Mother's Day

We are all packed up and ready for a whirlwind trip to Wisconsin.   We are celebrating my MIL's life on Saturday afternoon.  We leave this evening and return early on Sunday.  Wow, I had forgotten how much stuff you have to pack for a two year old.  On top of clothes and diapers, blankets and strollers we need his walker.  Not many two year old's travel with a walker.  We had to get a court order so we can take Little Buddy out of the state.  He is not officially ours yet, that happens later this month or in early June.  I believe we will be in Wisconsin about 39 hours, that is a fast trip.  We leave early on Mother's Day, and I am leaving Mr. 20 year old at the airport.  We fly home and he flies to Columbus to go back and train with his team.  Wah!!!!!

It is just as well I do not have time to dwell on things this Mother's Day.  With both my MIL and Mother passing away recently it is going to be a tough day.  I am blessed to have spent this time with Mr. 20, he is turning out to be a wonderful young man.  He still needs time to cook a bit, but I am hopeful for his future.

My Teenager turned 17 yesterday, where has the time gone?  He is such an amazing young man, quiet and shy but made of all the right things.  He doesn't give me much to worry about.  He is doing well in school, studies and never ever stays out late.  He would rather be home playing Xbox with his friends.  We are getting ready to look into colleges for him.  Yikes, once again I have to say time is flying much too fast.

I am now a Mother of four, of course I have to include Max.  And while I am sad the mother figures in my life have departed I am happy they are at peace.

I wish you all a wonderful weekend and a Happy Mother's Day.  You may or may not be a Mother but by caring for others you are mothering, so I wish you a wonderful, peaceful day on Sunday and a lovely weekend.

Wish Little Buddy luck on his first plane ride.

Gosh, not really sure what to say other than I am as ever astounded at how you cope and go on and keep living. I really hope that it all goes as well as it possibly can and that Buddy enjoys his plane trip, that will be an adventure for him. Not being a mother I find these mothers day posts hard to respond to in some ways, but I love your comment about mothering others even if you are not someone who actually has a child. Thank you for that, not written for me specifically I realise, but I am grateful that someone thinks these things. Keep on keeping on and I will be thinking of you. Hey, I had a lot to say after all! Take care. Love Amy xx

My dear Meredith. I'll be praying for you and your family this weekend. You have certainly had more than the usual trials and losses lately and yet you keep on with your gracious spirit, loving everyone around you. I am so glad I can call you my friend.
Little Buddy will be just fine with you and your boys all around him. I just realized how completely outnumbered you are by the male presence in your family. Even Max!
Blessings always my friend. I hope this weekend brings peace to your heart.

Sounds like you will be very busy Meredith. I'm so sorry for your losses but the end of suffering is a blessing. Try to take a deep breath and remember that Mother's Day is a day for honouring you too. I know you are a wonderful Mom and that's the most important thing in the world. xo J

Good luck sweet Little Buddy on your big adventure. And a happy birthday to your Teenager. He sounds a little like my middle boy, quiet and hardworking and not really any trouble at all. I do hope your Mother's Day isn't too hard, you have had a lot to process in these last few months. And I hope your trip and the celebration of your MIL's life is as good as it can be. Thinking of you this weekend Meredith. CJ xx

Happy Mother's Day to you Mere. Wish I could scoot over and give you a hug while you're here! :)

Hi Meredith, despite the sad occasion, I really hope that you get to enjoy the excitement of his first plane ride.

And that the whirlwind all goes according to plan, and you do get a chance to breathe for a moment.

They are all growing up so fast, it's like life just moves forward at warp speed.

I hope the trip goes well and that Mother's Day is not too painful, but is more a chance to be thankful and to feel peaceful. It will be a hard one, no doubt, but your four (!) children will make you feel loved and special, I am sure. Lots of love to you Meredith. x

I hope Mother's Day wasn't too hard for you. I have both my mom and my MIL so I'm not sure how it will feel when I'm the mom! I still feel like a daughter on Mother's Day.

Next time you come to Wisconsin, stay longer and visit me in Madison!

I hope the trip was all you hoped for and not too exhausting emotionally or physically, and that Little Buddy travelled well.

You and your family are an inspiration :)

And belatedly, a Happy Mother's Day to you Mere x

Hi Meredith, I hope the trip went well and that you are settled back in at home now. I might be biased, but both my boys have turned out pretty darn great and I am proud of them. They are both so different and yet I know they will be kind, loving men and that's all I can ask for. Sounds like your boys are the same. Yusef will be 19 on October 3rd and Zack will be 16 later in the month. Time certainly does fly. Take care and have a good week. Tammy

Hi Meredith - Hope your trip went well and was enjoyed (as much as it could be). Glad you had your family with you. How did little one like the plane ride?

Have had you on my mind and in my prayers knowing the transitional stage you are going thru during this time. Just know you are still being lifted up in prayer.

Have a great day,

Judy

I hope you had a lovely Mother's Day. Bittersweet, I know. Hope Little Buddy travelled well too. I know just how much stuff you need for travelling with small children - it is exhausting just packing the car! I have found lists are my best friend!
