I can't write a post without saying how utterly proud I am of all the young people participating in the March For Our Lives march yesterday. I watched speeches and footage of this incredible event with tears in my eyes. How well spoken all of these young people are, so determined to fight for what is right. They are years beyond me at that age, but in a way I guess they have to be. They have been subjected to gun violence their whole lives. They have seen story after story about how young people just like them have been subjected to gun violence or worse seen it first hand. It makes me have hope that the future is with our young people, they know what is right and wrong a lot better than the rest of us. They speak up and soon they will vote. I am amazed at their eloquence and persistence. Well done to all of them and all of the other folk out there supporting them and speaking their truth.
Friends I have to make this fast because I am tired. March has kicked my work butt. I just finished my last report, seven to be exact, on top of all the work I normally do. I am so tired I hurt if you what I mean. My body hurts, my head, my shoulders, back and my arms. I suppose it has to do with working on kids all day and lifting up Little Buddy, he is getting very long.
I don't even have a puppy photo for you. Seems I have missed a whole week of their growth. They will be five months old tomorrow.
I do have a finish, my second this year. How pathetic is that?
Let me introduce you to the Habitat Cardigan. I can't remember where I saw this or how I found the pattern. See friends my brain is mush. It took me way too long to make. It also took me way too long to get gauge, and I still somehow got the whole sweater too short. But I like it. I can picture myself on chilly days popping this on in the evening to snuggle. Too bad those chilly days won't be back until October. I used Juniper Moon Farm Moonshine from my stash to make this, about 1,379 yards. I ended up using a size M hook to get gauge, well beyond what the pattern called for. Still it is a finish people, one that I will wear. So I count that as and accomplishment considering my busy life of late.
And I just had to add this. Little Buddy received a fun surprise in the mail from a very, very caring and special blog friend. It is his first pinata and he was thrilled. He is on Spring Break this week although I am not. He has a wee cough so needs some time to regroup. Hope you all have a great week.
