Happy Mother's Day to all of you................

Happy Mother's Day to you all my friends.  As in years past I always think this should be called  Woman's Day.  Women help keep the glue of this world together.  We love, care, and work tirelessly to keep our friends, family and pets moving forward.  We love so deeply it often hurts, and are often hurt in return.  But it doesn't matter because we love unconditionally so many in our lives.  You don't have to be a mother to do this, yet your contribution is every much as important.  So to all of you celebrating, Happy Women's Day.  I am honored to be right there along side you, loving, caring, getting hurt and getting back up to fight some more.  To all of you missing your mother's today, I am right there with you.  I have been missing mine much longer than the four years it has been since she passed.   To all of you who make the world a better place by simply loving, sharing and taking care of others, you have my deep gratitude.

In case you have not seen me lately here I am.  I think Little Buddy did an excellent job.  I also got a bouquet of paper flowers with little sayings on them from him.  Here is my favorite: What do you like to do special with your Mom?  "Cool down"  Of course I had no idea what he was talking about and he told me, "We like to cool down in the warm breeze in front of a fan."  I am not sure this has ever happened but I'll take it.

We had a big milestone birthday this week.  Mr. 20 is now Mr. 21.  He celebrated appropriately I might add.  Well done to my beautiful boy, I love you and am so proud of all you have accomplished.  Life has not always been easy for this boy of mine, but he is a fighter and is doing so well.  I am in awe of him every single day.

As for the rest of the week I have been under the weather as well as trying to work as much as I could.  It has been so busy and now I am heading into another week not feeling perfect yet.  I can't even begin to catch up with all of you so I will leave you with loving thoughts for a wonderful week ahead.

I'm with you on wishing a happy day to everyone, because it's not just mothers who "mother" their loved ones and almost all good men are "mother hens" who take care of their family and friends. I know because my husband is just as much of a nurturer to all of us as I am. *H*A*P*P*Y* * *B*I*R*T*H*D*A*Y*!*!*!* to your son. You have 3 really amazing boys, ma! And those dogs.. they made me LOL! So funny and cute! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Love the "cool down" story. LB is always so funny and sweet. (Well, probably not always...but from a distance he is perfect!)
Turning 21 is major! Congratulations on having an adult child!
I am with you on the frantic working life. I have four seniors not graduating, which means four extra meetings and a pile of paperwork -- and two weeks less to do in it, with my upcoming surgery. But, we push ourselves to make it happen for our kids.

Making Mother's Day cards and presents was always a hoot when I was a teacher. First graders say the funniest things about their moms. Some of them would make me blush.
Hope you feel better soon.

And a happy Mother's Day to you, Meredith!

Happy "Woman's Day" Meredith! I've been missing my mother for 6,5 years now, but I finally enjoyed my own Mother's Day without crying for her. I also got a drawing from my daughter, not such an artistic portrait like you got though ;-)
Congratulations with your son!
Take it easy if you can next week and take care of yourself,
Sigrid x

21, that's a big milestone, I hope he had a good day. Sorry you're not feeling well, I hope it passes very soon. Love the picture of the big tongue licking the nose, so sweet. Wishing you a happy Women's Day as well. It's tough at times being the one holding it all together, I know too well. CJ xx

The Cool Down may have happened at a time when he was ill or upset. It might have made a big impression on him but been barely a blip on your busy radar at the time. Kids remember the oddest things.

I like your reformatting of the holiday. So very, very true All Of The Time.

Your smile says it all! That boy sees you smiling. That's what counts. Hugs to you! How can our children be so old? We aren't!!

Dear Meredith, I’m hoping you woke up this morning feeling much better. I’ll be praying for you my friend. I hope everyone had a wonderful day yesterday. It’s a difficult day for many of us. My mom has been gone exactly half of my life this year. 29 years. It doesn’t get any easier. I love the card from your little guy. They say the darndest things! And happy, happy birthday to Mr. 21! That’s a huge birthday! Take care of yourself Meredith.
Blessings, Betsy

Meredith,
I love Little Buddy’s portrait of you; now I know exactly what you look like. What a lovely, big smile you have!

I also very much agree with your comments about Women’s Day. At church yesterday all of the mothers were called up to the altar for a special blessing. While I did appreciate the spirit behind it, it did make me feel a bit sad.

Take care and I hope you start feeling better.
