Thank you and can you stand another one?

Before I write anything I want to thank you all for your caring and sharing in my last post.  You opened your hearts and talked about your own experiences with sexual misconduct and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.  I also appreciate each and everyone of you who did not want to share.  I am not sure I would have before this confirmation hearing to be honest.  Let me just say I am sending love to each of you no matter what has happened to you in the past, you are all worthy, you matter, and did not bring any unwarranted attention onto yourself.   I thought I would get a quick post in before the vote on Judge Kavanaugh.  I just might go into hiding after the vote because I fear my trust in our system and our government is going to reach an all time low, if that is even possible anymore.

Here to make you smile is Hank.  He is getting much better in front of the camera and is not looking so panicked when he sees it in front of him.  He makes me laugh so much.  He gets his bone every time you walk in the room and prances around like a horse.  He is very proud of his bones!

And here is Bear.  He is so sweet and adorable.  He looks so innocent but don't let that fool you, he is a master at getting into everything, and I mean everything!  But really his heart is filled with love.

My last Memento Mori Shawl was finished last weekend.  I made myself sit down and rest most of the weekend which allotted a lot of time to get this done.  Little Buddy and I did things at home, the pool, play doh, reading, a movie, snuggles, you know how it goes.  It was wonderful and even more so because the families teams, UCF, Ohio State and the Packers all won.  The biggest boys and Dad had a great time in beautiful Wisconsin with the gorgeous weather and the Packer win of course.

The shawl was completed with Malabrigo Rastita, I believe I said Rasta before and that is a thicker yarn.  I used less yarn with this shawl somehow but it came out about the same size as the red one.  This is for Little Buddy's babysitter for Christmas.  She loves skulls, and spooky things so I thought it would be perfect for her.  Two presents completed, Yay!  I used about 500 yards of yarn for this shawl and a size H hook.  For the last few days I have had nothing on my needles or hook, it feels very weird to me.  I hope to rectify that tonight.

Happy weekend my friends.

Hank looks like he has such a joyful soul!

That purple is just PERFECT for the skull shawl. The variation in the color is very spooky!

I'm already in hiding from the news and politics. Our country is hitting a new low each day it seems. Oh Hank makes me smile for sure. Rest and take care!

Thanks for the smiling pups! It's been a terrible day. I am hiding from the news because I just can't take anymore. I've peeked at Twitter so I know it's all bad. I certainly hope this seals the deal for the younger generation to get out and vote. Those old fools in congress belong in a nursing home, not in Washington.

I didn't comment yesterday, but you were in my thoughts all day. I too have had my experiences, but mostly I keep them buried. Didn't even tell my husband until a few years ago. A big hug to you for being such a strong lady.

Well Hank certainly made me smile tonight. Bear is pretty handsome too. Two gifts done! That’s wonderful ! The purple really makes the pattern stand out. We’re still driving. Almost to Billings, MT but it’s dark and I dislike driving through the mountains in the dark so I’m trying to keep myself occupied so I don’t have an anxiety attack! :-)
Blessings,
Betsy

Love your doggy photos! Nice work on the shawl, too. You are an awesome crocheter!

Usually, I don't like skulls. But these crocheted ones are adorable. :-) I don't comment on (American and European by the way) politics anymore ... Who can be trusted? What about integrity? All the best! Regula

Those furboys are big balls of fluffy love! Glad you were able to have a restful weekend of hanging out with Little B and getting in some much needed crafty time. Ever since you know who took office, it's been a constant downward spiral. I can't believe that there are sane people out there who sit in a crowd listening to him mock, degrade and belittle others and they smile and clap and chant as if it is all okay. So messed up!

I'm so peeved at Susan Collins - I read that she is in her last 2 years in the Senate and that she needs to toe the line so she can get donations (bribes) to pad her bank account for retirement. And to have a Dem Senator vote yes is the worst kind of disappointment. They just are not seeing the light. It's so dreadful.

I love how the last shawl turned out, really a beauty.

Both of your fur sons are magnificent. I love seeing them. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Sending you a hug. Bear and Hank are a delight, they have such beautiful faces. I can imagine the mischief they get into with Little Buddy around. I have a blanket on my hook at the moment, with the yarn all ready for the next one. My Grandchildren certainly keep me busy.

I do love that 'about to cast on' time, all the possibilities! I shall look forward to seeing what's next. I know what you mean about losing faith in the system. It is all looking horribly inevitable. Shame on those who are voting with their own benefit in mind. Those puppies are utterly delicious. Looking at Hank made me smile. Have a good weekend Meredith. CJ xx

Oh your pups make me smile over and over. I'm glad you and lil b had a good weekend while the biggest boys (so cute) were away.
It was a sad week for Cub fans. We are rooting for Milwaukee now . Everything seems to be Brewers blue and yellow. It will not be beneath me to eat a Brewers cupcake!!!

Hi Meredith. We watched the news here and all I was thinking was Mere will be mad about this! It is deflating for this event and all those that have happened in the past. Glad you enjoyed making the shawl - it is super spooky. Jo x

I thought of you when I read the news - it is really a shocking but unfortunately not surprising outcome. What I find most unbelievable is the way ordinary people fall in step with all that nonsense, it is as if they have lost touch with the real world. Scary.

I am glad you have your boys and your family to take your mind of things. They sure are cute. I hope you have a lovely week. xx
