Briefly popping in.....................

There is tons going on here lately but I am going to keep it short.  There is just way too much on my mind these days but I did want to pop in.  Mr. 26 had to get a new car last weekend.  His old Nissan Exterra final gave up its last breath.  So here he is, very excited I might add, with his new wheels.  Little Buddy was so excited about the new car, but even more excited that his biggest brother had to rent a car for a few days and it was a van!!!!!  For some reason those photos did not upload so you will just have to imagine his glee.

I have started anew project without finishing my crochet top.  That can wait because I had the urge to make blankets for the big boys and their girlfriends for their new apartments.  I am thinking a Christmas present although there is no way I will get two completed by then.  This is the Equinox Square by Rachele Carmona.  I made a few modifications to make it much larger.  Each square I am making is 14 inches across.  I drew up a chart because I have the attention span of a flea and can't keep up with written directions right now.  The last row is supposed to be a square shape, so much for my drawing skills.  Still it is easier for me to glance at and know where I am.  The whole blanket will be in this soft light grey color.  The yarn is We Are Knitter's The Cotton Yarn, they are having a 30% off birthday sale right now if you are interested.

Little Buddy and I have been doing a ton of school work this weekend.  He is not thriving in third grade.  Actually he is having a very, very hard time.  I have a meeting with his teachers and therapists on Friday to see where we are at and what we need to do to make this a successful experience for both him and them.  The answer might be to homeschool him.  I am looking at all options.  The last thing I want him to do is feel bad about learning, or bad about the way he needs to learn.  So much to think about that is keeping my mind very busy. So that is why I am vacant from this space and visiting all of you.  Besides work and just taking care of this house I am a bit overwhelmed with this new task.

And just because I think everyone needs to see these two here they are.

I am thinking of all of you affected by fires, hurricanes, Coronavirus, or our pathetic leader.  I am sending you all love that we make it though these dark times.  As for the death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, there are no words to describe this loss to all of us.  Rest in power, rest in peace.  Thank you for all you have done throughout your career to fight for all of our rights.  We are a better nation and a better people because of your service.

Stay safe my friends.

It sounds like you've got a lot on your plate at the moment, it's such a responsibility making sure that our little ones get the right education, I'm sure you'll come to the right decision for Little Buddy. Always lovely to see Hank and Bear.

Oh, that crochet pattern! I don't know how you do it. I can't make heads or tails out of them and I've tried.
It's so good to see all your smiling boys after such a terrible news week.
Stay safe!

I'm so sorry that life is so over-whelming right now. Wish I could come clean your house or mow your grass -- in gratitude for all you do for others. Be kind to yourself.

What kind of car did your son choose? I know how fun it is to get a new vehicle. I think your little man was as happy as his brother! I'm sorry his school is being tricky for you both. Our grandson, the 12 year old, is not doing well with online learning. I hope he gets in the swing of it. I was crushed to hear that RBG had passed. Her dying wish was to have the next president replace her. I'm so depressed at how turnip and his minions are rushing to put in another SC judge. Doesn't anyone appreciate fairness any longer? Sigh. Hang in there.. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Sounds like way too much on your plate. Hopefully you'll have a positive meeting next week. Sending warm thoughts your way (we're safe from the fires where we are in Oregon, and smoky skies are gone).

Sorry your little man is having a tough time in third grade, I hope things are sorted out for him soon, one way or another. School isn't always brilliant is it? Love the new car, I am wishing your son many happy adventures in it. Hope you have a good week. Also sad to hear about the death of RBG. CJ xx

My dear Meredith, I echo what Amanda said. I wish I lived closer and could help homeschool LB. We homeschooled Alex for all of his years in school and Jamie & Mandy for middle and high school. I worked full time during those years but my job as a bookkeeper wasn't nearly as demanding and emotionally draining as yours. I could just "leave my work at work".
Your prefering charts to written instructions boggles my mind. I can't make heads nor tails of crochet charts and always use the written instructions. Isn't it amazing how God wired all of our brains differently? We each learn and do things in our own ways, just like LB. The correct method just has to be used. :-)
Congrats to Mr. 26 on his new car. That's always an exciting time. I know both boys and their girlfriends will cherish the blankets you're making for them and know the love that you crocheted into each loop.
I pray that we can come together as a nation again and remember how we used to get along and share ideas with each other and accept differing view points without resorting to hate and violence. Sometimes our candidates win and other times they don't. I pray we can learn to love each other before it's too late.
Meredith, I hope this is a great week for you and that you can relax somewhat.
Blessings and a huge hug,
Betsy

So nice to see all the smiles on your boys faces, Congratulations to Mr 26 for his new car it looks great! LB looks really happy at the wheel. I love the new blanket and well done for drawing a chart, I think all patterns should come with a chart it's so much easier to glance at a chart than to read long drawn out instructions. I feel for you Meredith I really do you have so much going on and now the added worry of maybe having to homeschool LB, he may need just a bit more time for things to click into place in third grade I have my fingers crossed that something possitive will come out of the meeting. Take care and stay safe Meredith we are all here for you. xx

I'm sorry 3rd grade is tough for Little Buddy. Hopefully things will work out and you will find a way that is best for him.

You are such a good advocate for him and know him best. Any decision you make that you are at peace with yourself will be the very best decision. I will be praying for you. These are trying times and I swear each month gives us personally new challenges. You are such a strong mother - you will prevail and he will thrive because he is loved.

It's so difficult to see our children struggle. Still, there is some comfort in knowing they are not the only ones ever to do so. I hope there is a solution that can provide your little boy with whatever he needs at this age when friends and socialization are also so important. I know you will advocate for him strongly.

I love the new crochet pattern--I like to chart out written instructions, too. I'm sorry you are feeling overwhelmed.

Meredith, this added stress is worrying me. I hope that your educators will step up and find Lil B the support needed. I wonder if I ask my Zach who teaches kids from 4-8years of age , in China, on line, If he could tutor your Zach in a subject. What help would Zach need ? My Zach is very very patient. No charge OF COURSE. Please email me and I'll get in touch with Zach. HE has been teaching for over 6 years now. English, Spanish, guitar........

that Hank has the sweetest smile. it's like he is almost human. and a little self conscious about your taking his picture. and then of course there's Bear who just Laughs! like he's in on the joke you apparently just told. :D
I feel Little Buddy's pain. math for me became very difficult all of a sudden in third grade.
I remember it well. the teacher had us do a problem at the chalk board. I couldn't get the answer and she held up recess for everybody until I GOT it! I was humiliated. and drew a complete blank of course. not good times.
I hope you can get it worked out. sending you much love. xo

Buddy looks so beautiful and happy. I think you are doing an incredible job with him. I'm sorry it's gotten so difficult. I know the parents and children around me are having trouble, too. I still think he is making incredible progress in all areas with you and the doggies!

It's ok to take a break if you need. The blogosphere isn't going anywhere in a hurry. We'll understand and be waiting for you. I've needed to have a break due to big life stuff but I'll be back - so much to catch up on!

My thoughts are with you and LB. We teachers are working so hard, but we know it is subpar for most kids. Especially little ones with challenges. Could you have a tutor come in and tutor? I know it might be hard to find someone "safe" enough.

Hoping all is ok with you. I know things must be so hard, what with everything you have going on. Like others who've commented, I wish I lived close enough to come help you out. Sending you big hugs xo

I hope you get something sorted soon to make things a little on him, it is so hard with a lot of education trying to make one size fit all. We all know this doesn't work, I'm sure your dedication is improving things more than you realise. Stay safe. x
