Unwinding..............

Sorry for the MIA status.  Just as I was going to work on my computer a week ago Friday I realized my internet was down yet again.  After two hours on the phone with my server I got all items back online but my computer.  This did not make me happy especially as the call got dropped after two hours and then I had to call back and deal with someone new.  I actually had to have my computer guy come to my house to get back on and well we all know that takes a bit of time to get him here.  But here I am, behind reading blogs, behind with paperwork and well as the photo above looks, just behind.

It has finally cooled off here and Little Buddy has been wearing jeans!  Okay I might be a bit of a nutter but I just love this little hiney in jeans.

Last weekend I was not unwinding in the relaxing sense but unwinding The Longline Cardigan I started way back in the beginning of the year.  I also unwound the Brunch Cardigan I attempted to make for one week.  I would get to a certain point and the joins would look terrible, plus my stitch count was off and it was a mess.  Now what to make?  See having about 5 days where you can't be on the computer gives you all sorts of time to think about projects.

I thought and thought and this is what I came up with for my beautiful purple bulky yarn by Malabrigo, Happy Harvest a really beautiful sweater vest.  There are those short rows at the top I am a bit afraid of but for now I am off to a good start.  But I forget how SLOOOOOOOW knitting is compared to crochet.  This might take me forever.

And much to my dismay another major unwinding yesterday.  This was my car project for the last few weeks.  I decided to make two of these fun projects for Little Buddy's teachers for Christmas, the Queen Anne Lace Scarf.  I was steam blocking them when I realized I had an extra bump in both of them, actually near the beginning in almost identical places.  What are the chances of that?  So this is where I am at, down to 1/3 of one done with a whole other scarf to redo.

And who could be cuter in warm fluffy pajamas?   I could just eat him up!  I'll be catching up with you all as soon as I can.  Have a wonderful week.

Hi Meredith, I'm so sorry about your computer woes. That is so frustrating, especially the dropped call. I think every one of your photos of little guy is cuter than cute. The weather differences amaze me. You're happy about warmer clothes and I see snow on the mountains! Happily, its just been rain here.
I'm also sorry about your unraveling. I'm trying to look at unraveling as givine me more yarn to play with again, but when it's a deadline, like Christmas gifts, that doesn't always work so well.
I'm home from church this moring with a headcold and cough. I actually haven't left the house since Thursday as I don't want to share it with anyone.
Blessings,
Betsy

Glad you've managed to get your computer problems sorted out, they're great when they work, not so great when they don't! Such a shame having to rip back on the shawls after all that work but it's better to have them right, plus you get the pleasure of making them all over again.

Hi Meredith - Blue jeans are always so cute on the little kids - and Little Budy looks TALLER - don't know if its the jeans and great striped shirt - but he looks pretty happy. Internet/computer down is so frustrating. You yarn is beautiful - hope you get your Queen Anne Lace Scarves finished before school closes for Christmas.
Hugs.

He is cute as a button, and so cool in those jeans. Sorry about the computer problems, that is SO frustrating. Nice to have some wool all unwound and ready to go. I am about to unwind a scarf I think. It hasn't really worked. I need to turn it into the Yarn Harlot's one row handspun scarf I think. Hope you have a good week Meredith. I am buried in all sorts of writing here and going so fast there is smoke come out of the laptop. Well, I wish I was, anyway. This is a little break, and very enjoyable it has been too. Hugs, CJ xx

It's so rough to fight the internet/computer woes!

I'm glad your computer is working again. I like all your projects. I have to unravel quite often which is annoying. Still working on my prayer shawl. Young Living essential oils are great to use. Nothing synthetic. Check out Seed to Seal dot com. Let me know if you any questions. Cozy pjs are great to have this time of year. It's chilly and we did get some rain today, which we dearly need. Have a blessed week!!
Do u have my email address?

Technology can be blessing and a curse.
But that knitting should let you down
is an utter disgrace.

Hi Meredith

I hope you don't feel pressure to write us. But I am gleeful whenever I see a new post ! Lil buddy in jeans is the cutest thing ever. Make sure he understands the zipper part. Fireman was on a call with a poor little kindergartner who got his penis stuck in the zipper of his pants. He was crying, sore and embarrassed until the firemen showed up and lied and said they all did that too.

I ripped out a shawl this weekend.

Little Buddy is looking more grown up all the time! Love these pictures of him. Hoping your week goes well Meredith with no more internet/computer issues.

he is super adorable (and growing taller!) I ripped out two projects over the weekend but I am so glad I did because I knew in my heart that it wasn't working out the way I wanted it to work out.

what is not to love? LOL.
I think you've handled your technical time out so well. far better than I would. I hate went things that are supposed to work.. don't!
your patterns looks very difficult to me! but the outcomes of whatever you make are always so beautiful.
I truthfully just come for pictures and stories of your sweet little guy!
take care! xoxo

So fun to see your LB photos! We've had some Internet issues, too, but luckily they resolved themselves without our having to call anyone. That QA scarf pattern is the one crochet project I actually finished but that was quite a while ago. Malabrigo yarn is one of my favorites, so I hope you can get it to behave. I also hope this week goes better for you! Hugs.

ARgh! Computers! And, yes, jeans on little butts are just so cute. The purple/plum yarns are so beautiful. My favorite hues. Hope your week is going well, Meredith.

Oh dear, that is a lot of unwinding! But the colour of that purple is purely stunning. I love computers and cars as much as each other, when they work they are fabulous, but the minute either is out of commission or has a blip, I really feel quite out of my depth and forlorn. Glad the computer problem has now been resolved. I too have been MIA but for about a year! Hopefully now back to reading posts and blogging again. Take care xxx

Computer problems are such a headache! My computer crashed 2 weeks ago at 3pm on a Friday!!!
When they work they are great, when they don't I always say,"good, lets get rid of it". But I never do get rid of it! Little B is too cute in his shirts and jeans!
Glad its cooling off for you, tomorrow we are getting snow! Lots of tucking in here for the next 2 days.

Computer and Internet problems make me crazy, Mere. I was so proud though, when I was 'walked' through a few problems on the phone with Comcast with my internet at the lake while I was alone--and actually set up my own router. Amazing what we can do when we really need something!!

I love seeing little ones in jeans...even my tiny grandkids. Just darling. And little buddy looks like such a big boy in his outfit!

Crochet talk is Greek to me but I know I love everything you create. I like that it fills in parts of your day here and there--sounds so relaxing!

So glad you commented on the Bare Minerals gel. I was going to do posts solely focusing on one subject such as hair care, body, face, makeup, but I realize a lot of us just aren't on the same page so I'm hopping in with little bits and bobs of what I like. I've seen infomercials about Boom products and one of my sisters uses them. I still think the product by Bare Minerals I wrote about will keep you moisturized with a little glow. And it's priced just right. Just saying...

Take care,

Jane ❤️

Yes, LB does look adorable in jeans! He looks taller every time I see a photo of him.

Aaargh on the computer problems. It's amazing how very frustrating they can be. Glad you got them sorted.

Love that bluey-purpley yarn in the QAL scarf! It's gorgeous.

I always feel like I'm behind in general, too. Is there such a thing as being all caught up on things? ;-)

I hope you can find some true unwinding time - and no more internet or computer issues. Hate those!

Internet/tech problems are a pain. Glad to see things finally got sorted. I've been trying new crochet patterns but my brain gets stuck in old projects and so I find myself making mistakes and frogging back a lot. Really disappointing when you don't notice a mistake until you are quite far along. The good thing is that most yarns are easily ripped back. Our weather has finally gotten a bit cooler here. I'm wearing winter pajamas, woolly socks and using an extra blanket at night (and it's only in the 50's/60's but feels cold to me). :) Have a good weekend.

Sorry you had so much unwinding to do. I just recently did a bit of that myself and find it very frustrating. Hope things go better as you get going again. So nice to see you back and hope all your computer and internet problems are behind you. Those crocheted lacy scarves are very pretty. Buddy looks adorable there in jammies. Things have gotten way beyond cool here, down right cold. Was only 25 a few minutes ago, and it warmed up to get to that point. I really hate fall and winter.

Oh man, I'm so sorry about your internet woes. We've been struggling with ours since the move. There's no internet provider here at the new house (we're extremely rural) so 3 of us are sharing a hot spot and let's just say, it's not working very well. I'm also sorry you've had to rip so much out recently. That's heart breaking! Hope you can get everything back on track soon. Happy stitching!
