Little Buddy, a tale in three pictures...................

Sometimes this little boy of mine makes me want to rip my hair out and other times he makes me laugh and laugh.  Friday late afternoon was one of those times.  After an excellent day at school, which is unusual for a Friday, he was happy and content to play, very chatty as always.  Later in the afternoon I gave him his iPad and reviewed the rules, no going on games you aren't supposed to, no throwing fits when it is time to get off, give the iPad to Mom when she asks for it with no anger.  After an agreement to do just that I gave it to him and went outside to water plants.  After five minutes I came in to find him on a game he downloaded that he should not have been on.  I took the iPad away and then there was a lot of crying, fussing and backtalking.  I was told I was, "Going to jail" and he was. "Calling the police" Yay for me!  Jailtime might just be the peace and quiet I need.  I was also informed that he wanted a mom that, "was not angry and cruel"

After finally getting him to go in the house and leave me alone a bit which lasted all of 35 seconds  he came back out and told me I was, grounded and to have a good time being grounded, and then he finally went inside for good.  Peace and quiet are a beautiful thing my friends but too much of it makes you wonder what exactly is going on.  I went inside to find his crutches at the bottom of the stairs and he was sitting up on the top step with his arms firmly folded in front of him and a very angry look on that cute face.  I asked him if he was upstairs waiting to tell Dad on me and he gave me a curt nod, yes.

Now you have to understand I am almost hysterical by now. I was texting my sister and my friend Holly all of this and they were laughing, too.

Suddenly I got this photo from my son who was working upstairs.

I know it is all grainy but you get the idea.  This made me laugh so much I was crying.  A few minutes later came this.

This photo with a message from my son saying Little Buddy is talking non stop so he can't get any work done. And then there was this....................

And here we are still talking and my son being a wonderful sport about it all letting him go on, and on, and on.

After quite a while Mr. 27 came down and left for his apartment and finally Little Buddy came down and I asked him what he was doing and he replied he was just hanging out upstairs.

What could have been a very tough afternoon with lots and lots of tantrums ended up making me laugh and laugh.

Thank you so much for your kind comments on my last post.  I find reading blogs that Teresa loved to be a way of still connecting to her.  Passing on her love of commenting has helped to soothe the ache I have in my heart.

Stay safe my friends.

What a terrible person you are, and such a criminal who needs to be put in jail! How dare you have rules for a little boy? Who do you think you are, his mother? LOL.

Been there myself, of course, many times. How are there not Mom Jails all over the world?

Haha that's so funny, looking at that cute little face you would think butter wouldn't melt. I hope you are all forgiven now Meredith, have a peaceful Sunday. xx

How very lovely to hear all about little Buddy's antics, so funny and made me smile on a wet afternoon in Pembrokeshire!
I'm returning to Teresa's blog often too, she's left us all a wealth of artistry in words and pictures......goodness that makes me sound as if I've swallowed a book.......well, what I guess I want to say is how lovely we have got her great blog as a memory of a truly wonderful person.

Oh my word..............sometimes you have your hands full. I remember those days of wanting to kill them one moment and "never grow up" the next moment because they are just so darn CUTE when they are little.

I'm sure there are plenty of times Stephen wished he could put ME in time out or send me to jail. LOL

I was laughing so hard reading this that I had tears streaming down muy face!
I am so impressed that LB hasn't latched onto any really bad words and simply sends you to jail! And Mr. 27 is such a good big brother!

Ahhh....the mean mommy routine. I know it well. It does make for a good laugh when they finally come to their senses-at about 25. I drug the oldest son's precious Nintendo up the stairs by its cords when he was about that age. You don't want to know the word he called me that prompted that action. The kids still talk about it to this day. I did get my point across apparently.

Ah, bitter and sweet. And I hope you got a bit of a break between all that laughter! They are changeable, aren't they? Thank goodness for that!

Dear little man, that made me laugh too. It is much the same here with my youngest when he is told what not to do online. Things are too much to resist and then when he gets told off he has plenty to say to me. Sadly his brothers are not quite so accommodating though. CJ xx

Thanks for a good laugh. He is blessed to have two wonderful big brothers. I’m sure Mr.27 talked him out of calling the police and having you sent to jail. ;-)

I had not read Teresa’s blog, but after your post, I went and visited it and read through pages of her posts. What a lovely lady she seemed to be.

I have long thought that all mums in a last life attended the same school...if you haven't been told you are going to jail because you are mean and horrible you are simply not trying hard enough!

Oh my Meredith, I'm laughing so hard right now. I think most of us have "been there, done that!" Those photos that big brother took are priceless. What do the furboys think when Little B is upset?
I unpacked the last box for my craft area, at least until the POD arrives next month. I found the gift I had bought to give Teresa for her birthday. A little chicken dish like the ones she collected. I had told her it would be coming as it was bought in Spokane and not here quite in time to get there for her birthday. As soon as I saw it I cried and cried. I feel awful that I didn't find it sooner and mail it so she would have gotten it in time.
Blessings,
Betsy

I love the passion that Little B feels, I think I was like that as well. I had a lot of sass and swung into anger quickly. (who me?). He is blessed by such a loving family who loves him and supports him.

LOL! I couldn't be mad at him either!
I always see him lying in his sloth in the pool saying
"this is the life!" XO

So much to learn about emotions...I'm glad you gave him the space to work it through-better for both of you!

I'm glad you were able to laugh! There are things that I don't miss about raising children, but they are way outnumbered by the things I do miss.

Oh that lil Buddy. He will test you and then make you laugh your sides off. He's a keeper

He says the funniest things. It seems like children have become very addicted to technology. It's kind of sad. Those are funny photos.

Sometimes it's so hard not to laugh at the antics of children (and grandchildren). I'm glad Friday was a happy day for you all.

Ah, kids...sometimes I miss the funny and not-so-funny moments like this and other times I think, "whew, I'm glad that's over!" LB sure is one smart cookie!

That's quite the story in life! You don't need to be in jail at all, Meredith!! Children don't always understand they are in charge. It does sound funny though and made me laugh. I went shopping this afternoon and Megan went with me. Off from work two days so she's able to get a few things she wanted at grocery store and Bi-mart. She bought us dinner from Chick-fil-a food truck in town. Since Phil was here, she got food for him as well. He's usually not here on Tues evenings. Lovely walk this evening with him. One area there were a lot of barking dogs. 2 walking, others in the yards....bark,bark,bark,bark. A rose bush finally is blooming. So pretty in front lawn. Have some good times daily!!!

Well, I just had a good cry after Betsy directed me to the video obituary for Teresa on youtube, and now I am laughing because of your post. Thank you, Meredith. Sending lots of hugs your way. Now I think I'll go cry some more. :)
