No more sad stories..........

No more sad news, onward and upward so they say.  Thank you all for your kind words and support.  It is hard to move forward but there is no other choice, so here we go.

I thought you might like to see the front of my house, it is older, about 43 years and it looks like it from the street, still it is cozy, and lovely and in a very safe place.  I had to get a new roof, and repair many things on the outside and in but that is all okay, less for me to deal with later on.

Little Buddy's room is very cute.  He is using my middle son's bed and dresser.  We brought his cubbies for books and my friend gave him the desk and larger cubbies.  They all fit perfectly.  His other room in my big house was more of an extra media room, it was on the first floor so it was best for this little one who can't navigate stairs really well.  It did not have a closet because it wasn't a bedroom, but now he has a real bedroom.  It is close to the bathroom so that is helpful.  He can even get himself in and out of the tub independently so that is a big step.

While I was not able to bring along much of my furniture I was thrilled to bring along several big pieces that fit beautifully.  I had 12 foot ceilings in the big house, here they might be 8 or under, still things fit and I was able to bring along many family treasures that mean a lot to me.  Claudia got sent a few things and my niece did as well, so not as many things are here for my kids to go through when something happens to me.

The big pine piece in the bedroom used to hold hymnals in a church.  It is big, I mean really big but it fits perfectly.  It holds all my kids photos and special things from when they were growing up.  Another thing they will have to deal with when I am older or gone, but at least now it is all organized.

Little Buddy is having difficulty with adjusting to everything.  But we are trying to make it work for him and keep him as stable as possible.  Yesterday we got to spend two hours playing a racing game at his biggest brothers apartment.  Oh boy you can see the joy on that face!

Thank you again for all your loving comments and kind thoughts.

You new home is adorable. 43 year old ain't nuthin'! LOL (Our house turns 170 this year and yes ............some parts DO look that old.) LOL But, we love ours and soon Little Buddy will love his.

Moving is hard .................it takes time to settle in whether you are LB's age or mine, but it comes and it feels like HOME!

I love the cabinet that held the hymnals. That is GORGEOUS!

I see only good in this wise decision. it's so beautiful!
and I think lower ceilings make a cozier feel. you are keeping it simple and just LOVELY! it doesn't look like you've just moved in at all. I'm excited for you and Little Buddy. AND Hank and Bear. you named it well... "The Adventure House!"
look at that gorgeous tree. oh my! xo

Meredith, I love your new house, inside AND out! It is exactly what I would choose if I had the choice in a home, which I did not have with this last move. One floor, double garage, nice shade tree. Perfection.
You have made it so beautiful with your choice in furnishings. And LB able to climb in and out of the tub alone!!! Well, that is wonderful.
I'm sure it will all take time to adjust to, but it will be fine in the end. LB will adjust and love his new bedroom and furniture. You will love the peace and calm. And you have lots and lots of people praying for you and caring for you my dear friend.
Blessings,
Betsy

Your new home is absolutely lovely. American homes have so much space! Literally no-one I know has a five-bedroom home here. And I love the big tree out the front. Also that duvet cover, oh my, dog perfection! The hymnal is beautiful, also the dresser (do you call them that?) They are very popular in Wales - Welsh dressers, I absolutely love them, so cosy and homely. Dee is right that it always takes a while to settle in somewhere. I hope Little Buddy and you will both be very happy there. CJ xx

So very sorry you have had to deal with your life virtually exploding, it's difficult and unpleasant but it gets better...enormously better.
My ex husband of 30 years thought someone half his age was a better option. I found the first year difficult because I was only working part-time and had no financial support. Life now is wonderful, peaceful, stressfree, undemanding. I love my independence and answer to no one.

You have really created a lovely nest for you and your boys! When I moved out to my condo it was virtually empty for the year I was there.I loved having all the open space that was free from any emotional attachments. I really wanted to start fresh. I feel the same about the house I am in now. I am decluttering like crazy. The kitchen remodel and the mite adventure made me realize that I don't need all this junk that's from another lifetime I'm not living anymore.

Dearest Meredith, your new home is adorable and I love the huge tree in the front yard. I also love your furniture which fits in so well and looks great on your wooden floors. I'm very jealous of Little B's new bedroom. I could quite happily settle in there very easily! xxx

I so admire strong women who allow themselves to leave difficult situations. It's a huge challenge but you are coping. Lots of positive thoughts being sent your way.

I love your new house and its front yard. Great curb appeal.
You could have made another choice but you were brave and determined enough to make the best choice for you and your boys.

Transitions are a big deal for anyone. Changes are a process and they require Time, Patience, and Gentleness. Sometimes those three things don't all occur at the same time or when you need them.

Your new home looks cozy and welcoming. And how wonderful to have found a fenced-in yard for the dogs. Happy memories will be made there, I know.

That pine piece is a stunner and Little Buddy's room is so cheerful and fun. I think it's a wonderful house and a beautiful, safe refuge. I know LB will settle in good time. Moving is stressful under the best and happiest of circumstances but somehow we adjust. I'm so very happy for you.

You house is so charming and cozy. We moved from a large house about 8 years ago, and are now in a 1962 ranch that was updated nicely, but still small. I love it. I feel as snug as a bug in a rug. It's home.

Meredith, The best is beginning now! You've made your new space into a wonderful home which is "perfect" for you and Little Buddy! Of course, there will be trials; but, those times make the sweeter times even more special. Hugs to you!

Your new place looks absolutely perfect for a new start for you and Little Buddy. I'm sure this is a hard transition for both of you and I hope and pray that you and Little Buddy will adjust soon. That's incredible that LB can get himself in and out of the bathtub - wow!

Love and hugs,
Melanie

Meredith, you house looks so good outside. I used to live in a ranch style house years ago where my dad and mom had it built on farm dad grew up on. 4 bedrooms, 1 and a half bathroom. I enjoyed living in it. The bedrooms looks nice and your spot where you have photos of children looks beautiful. Sometimes having older pieces of furniture are good. I still have a few from my older family members that are no longer on earth. We've lived in our manufactured home for 32 years and hope to get new flooring done next year. LB looks so happy when playing the game. Enjoy your new to you house and so thankful you have pulled through the hard times. God bless and praying for you and family, Becky

Dear Meredith,
I tried 10 years trying to hold my family together; and I would be still suffering but luckily my husband's mistress decided to have a baby and that baby was my ticket to freedom. I was married to one of those 'funny charismatic, successful' guys so I know exactly what you are talking about.
You are lucky your son is by your side; my stepson chose to take his father's side.My son, on the other hand, is suffering a bit because his fahter talks badly about me.
I moved to a new home, like you, too. I love my home, it is such a peaceful place and my son is flourishing there.
I believe that life will be better for us now.
Your new home looks lovely and and you are rich because you have so many wonderful friends.
Sending you hugs,
Gaia.
