Autumn where are you?

Blogs everywhere are saying that Autumn is in the air.  A change in temperature, change in leaf color, a shortening of the day.  The smell of a fireplace, crisp leaves to walk on, well you get the idea.  I live in Florida.  Autumn is my very favorite time of year, and frankly a season I do not get to experience.  So Max and I went out this morning to see if we could see any traces of Fall.
 Are you Ready?
Autumn are you hiding in my maple tree?
Are you hiding in the swamp behind my house?  No, but I bet there is an alligator in there.
 Are you on the road?

Wait, what is this?  A leaf with some color!
Not even in the poison oak hanging from a tree is turning colors.
Suddenly, a peek through the trees and what did we see?  A little bit of color that isn't a shade of green.
Max and I had a lovely time even if it is hot and humid and Autumn is far, far away from us.  Hope you are experiencing all the beauty this season has to offer.

My husband said this morning, that in his next life he wants to live in California. He can't stop talking about the climate there. :-)

I wish you lots of yellow leaves on your daily walks with Max.
Max, by the way, is my father-in-law's name.

Autumn is definitely in the air here with temps around 68 and the trees very busily changing colors. Calling Orlando home I remember the days when October was my very favorite month of all. Hang in there, sweater weather on the way!!!!

That's what I miss from Maine, going back to college there in the fall was always an experience worth reliving. All trees bright red and orange and yellow, and the air getting cooler by the day... We don't have the same temperatures you have in Florida--in fact now we have had some warmer days than in August!--but the nights are cooler and nicer than before. I do miss Florida, though! Hopefully with the 40 days' vacation I accumulated during treatments I will be able to save some for visiting my brother in WPB next year :) is it far from you?
Hope you get a bit of a fall there too, Meredith :) xxx

Autumn is definitely here in the UK, the leaves started to turn in late August.

Very crisp in the morning, with lots of sunshine and blue skies today.

Hope you get to see some autumn colour soon where you are!

have a great weekend, Helenxx

Oh I wish you could be in Oregon today. The sky is bluer than usual, the air is warm and the trees are beginning to turn just a bit. It's supposed to start raining on Sunday, and may rain until next August. LOL ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

We wish you could come up here for a visit. Autumn has begun here - leaves are starting to turn. And it's raining constantly. My Red Sox are imploding and your Rays are right at their heels. Tonight we're supposed to play the Yankees but I can't imagine the game not being rained out.

We were driving home from Houston today and found ourselves looking for Fall, too. In our case, a few obviously dead trees were all we found. It's ironic that my favorite season is nowhere to be found here in the hot, dry South. I'm glad you found a little color on your jaunt today!

It is definitely turning cooler here in Ohio. Temps at night were in the 50's and the air has that crispness about it. Our day today was dreary, cool and rainy. We ventured out to do some shopping. I did see some trees turning color. We have some dead trees too....the culprit is the emerald ash boar that came to our region from good ole China. We planted those trees years ago and hoped for a small woods at the back of our property. Now the trees will have to be cut down :(

I'm having the same problem; it's supposed to be fall but instead it's humid and sticky. Oh well, we'll get it eventually. Lovely photos!
