North Carolina we miss you........

We are back from North Carolina a day early but home safely.  Hope you did not mind the photo overload my friends.  I can get a bit camera happy when it comes to Little Buddy and our adventures.

We had such a fun time.  There was a wonderful street fair on Saturday with firetrucks and face painting.  There was also a very quick visit to Silver Threads & Golden Needles yarn shop, but only for a quick purchase.

Little Buddy made cupcakes and frosted them with Vanilla frosting.  Vanilla is his favorite flavor.  We had a visit to the park and breakfast with a friend.  Little Buddy was not that thrilled with whipped cream on his pancakes.

My dear friend Lynda spoiled us.  Her next door neighbor on one side has a Harley Davidson motorcycle and brought it over so Little Buddy could see it up close.  It had to be turned off, my little one does not like loud sounds.  And her other neighbor is a sheriff!  He brought over his patrol car for Little Buddy to explore.  Sheriff Bryant got a real kick out of seeing Little Buddy in the back seat with bars on the windows.

We came home a day early because by yesterday Little One had had two tantrums with lots of crying and snotting by 8:00 AM, and he had only been up a half hour.  I decided right then to pack up and head home.  He was very quiet on the way home, even fell asleep for an hour.  Now that we are home he is still sensitive and not eating a whole lot.  I'll keep my eye on him to make sure he does not have to see the doctor.  Overall he was an excellent traveler which makes it easy to head back up to NC again.

It was a wonderful trip and I already miss the beautiful mountains and just sitting with my dear friend and chatting.  Now it is back to reality, those relaxing days go by in a flash don't they?  Today is all about laundry and getting my house organized again before I head back to work tomorrow.  The biggest boys tried to keep it all in check but you know how it is, there is so much you do that they have no idea needs to get done.

How have all of you been?  Any news?

Perhaps someone had a case of There's No Place Like Home. Even when the days are lots of fun--and exciting--Home is still The Best Place To Be.

Glad you had a getaway. Everyone needs a Reset or Reboot once in a while.

I loved each and ever photo! Little Buddy looks to me like he's grown a lot and is getting more handsome and strong by the day! He must have loved the fire truck, Harley D. and cop car.. all big things for little boys. That yarn looks luscious! No huge excitement here except I'm flying to Ohio in a few weeks to see my daughter's family. She may be taking me to see Lake Erie which I'm excited about, I've never seen a great lake. I'm so glad to hear that your little man was a good traveler, that's important. Welcome home!! Wish you didn't have to go back to work! LOL! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

It looks as if Little Buddy had quite the adventure. Love the photo of him on the back of the Harley; your friend has good neighbors. Except for the tantrums on the last day, I bet you were relieved and happy with your adventure, too. ;-)

Great photos. What a shame you had to cut your trip short by a day but you did the right thing.

It is so lovely that everybody made a happy fuss over LB and gee, one can truly see how much he has grown - so tall!

As for all the things that Mums do at home thst go unnoticed, I hear you loud and clear. No one notices how much we do until we're not there to do it. Just one day of no Mum at home can be enough to show up who does most of the work.

Even though you came home early, you can still go on holidays in your mind when you settle down to work with your new yarn. Did my blurry morning eyes read "Alpacalicious"? Sounds divine. I hope you are feeling refreshed after your travels. xx

So glad you got to go and overall had a good trip! We are nearly ready for realtor photos for the sale of the house but I need your level of energy for the final push to get things done! Hope you are able to ease back into work and not get overwhelmed! I am curious to see what you will make with the lovely yarn :-) xx

Oh, just look t that face. It looks like Little B. Had a wonderful time. Well, save for that whipped cream! What a handsome young man he is! Fire trucks, motorcycles and police cars! A small boys dream.
I’m sure it was a wise decision to return home. You know how to read your little man and know what he needs. Moms usually do. :-). I hope you don’t work too hard and can ease into the fray my friend.
Can’t wait to see what the yarn becomes.
Blessings,
Betsy

Glad to hear you had such a fun trip. The photos were a delight to see and enjoy your little adventures along with you. Shame you had to cut your trip short Home is certainly the best place to be if not feeling well.

That sounds like an excellent trip, I'm glad it went well. Love the picture of Little Buddy on the Harley, wonderful. Well done for finding some organic cotton, it's a really wonderful thing, I'm a huge fan of it, so much better than non-organic, and I bet it will be lovely to knit with. I shall look forward to seeing what it turns into. It's always tricky re-entering normal life after a trip isn't it. I hope you and Little Buddy settle back into it all very soon. No news here, except that tomorrow is the last day of school before the summer holidays. We are all VERY excited. CJ xx

oh Mere. what is there about him? I loved every single picture.
he touched my heart from the first moment I came here! he's so life affirming!
and tell him that as an introvert he and I share the same tolerance levels about a trip. or an event. even when I'm having a very good time! there just comes that moment when I WANT TO BE HOME!
sending you love and joy. which you already have in abundance.
but even Mere can always use more. LOL xo

Aww that's a lot of excitement for our LIL BUddy. Im thrilled he traveled so very well. You are a wise momma to head home and not stick to preplans. Spontaneity is important. And your profession is reassessment so again LIL b is so lucky to have you!

New: Zach's home interviewing. Al was asked to officiate at her friends Outer banks wedding this week. Pictures were amazing. My tooth implant is quieting down. Fireman's paddleboarding almost daily. All good! ALL GOOD MERE!

Your trip looks like so much fun. It is fun to travel with little ones -- until they have tantrums. My son had a tantrum problem, too (bipolar!), and I can't tell you how many times we had to walk out of stores and museums and amusement parks early. Good for you for having limits! They really do matter in the long run. People used to think I was too strict, but now Seth is a veterinarian, so I stand by parenting with consequences!

I miss the joy of sharing the world with young eyes. And LB has very joyful eyes -- most of the time!

Oh my gosh, the shot on the motorcycle is priceless! LB sure got to sit in a lot of fun vehicles.

So glad you had a good trip until the fun overload set in, and that you were able to head home when it became necessary.

Not much happening here - plugging away at work and the book, still spending many hours a week with my dad. Next week I'll be heading to Portland for the CGOA conference, where I hope to meet up with Teresa and Gracie. :)

You've posted so many wonderful photos!!! I'm afraid I've not been very inspired with my camera as of late, and so my blog has been rather neglected. I'm so glad you enjoyed a wonderful summer vacation. We are going to be visiting the neighboring province of Alberta to visit friends for a few days, but the extent of our plans for travel this summer.

Enjoy your week,
Andrea

I love all the photos of the Little Buddy adventures! He looked like he was having a fabulous time. I think I'm with him. I'm okay with whipped cream on waffles, but I prefer syrup on my pancakes. My son and his friend's say chocolate chip pancakes should have nothing on them. LOL

I want pancakes now, thanks a lot LB ;)

Glad you are all home safe. Wishing you happiness at home too.
