A lost tooth and a new sweater........

Just popping in for a quick hello. I hope you are all enjoying Autumn or Spring depending on where you live.  Life continues to be really busy and challenging for me right now.  I feel sometimes I am holding on by my fingernails, which are very short by the way.  So for now and for the foreseeable future I will pop in to read your blogs and post a quick post now and again. Not the way I like it but it has to be this way for a while, I hope you all understand.

Little Buddy lost a surprise tooth last weekend.  The Tooth Fairy paid a visit but I believe one of his coins was knocked behind his bed.  He is a coin man right now, sometimes its bills and other times coins.  The Tooth Fairy has to have a stash of options, just in case. He can tell you to the penny how much money he has, he is a smart one.

I had another finish.  While I am not blogging much I am knitting like a maniac.  Knitting soothes my soul, it helps when things are overwhelming to me.

This is Harebell number 5.  Every time I make this sweater I get off count, I think there might be a problem or error with the front increases on the size small because making this one, and a new one I have gotten far off stitch count.  When I made the size medium with thinner weight yarn it all worked out perfectly.  Still I am knitting on and adapting as much as I can.

Made with Berroco Remix in the color smoke.  Size 8 needles for the body/sleeves, 7 for the ribbing at the bottom, fronts and collar, and size 6 for the ribbing on the sleeves. I made the arms a bit too long, and actually ran out of yarn on the second sleeve ribbing and had to use a similar color for the last 4 stitches of the bind off.  I should have been paying attention and realized bigger needles makes the whole thing work out much faster, thus my lack of attention at the sleeve length.  Still no one will know and that is the closet I have ever come to running out of yarn.

Five balls were used for a total of 1080 yards of yarn.  Remix ix a super affordable and lovely yarn.  I am using it again to make number 6, in periwinkle.  Each yarn choice makes this sweater look completely different even though I am using the same pattern.  It is my favorite pattern by far.

Hope you are all well, I miss you!

Your sweater looks cozy. I wore one yesterday after it got chilly and I had two shirts on, one long sleeve with a short sleeve on top. I enjoy having yarn. I need to make sure all is correct in my prayer shawl before I cast off and be done except for the tassels. I need to get it in the mail soon. Then I will knit something small, like a scarf that I bought yarn for a few years ago from flock and fiber fest. None this year again even though it moved to another county, not too far from me. I had to work that day as well. I miss reading your comments on my blog. I just posted my latest one today. I know you will make through the time of struggle. Breathe! Pray! Read a good book!! I don't listen to much news any more. Hugs and prayers my friend!

Another beautiful sweater Meredith. I'm glad that knitting is what you need. We all need something to help us cope with the world and life in general. You're on a roll with these sweaters and each is gorgeous.
LB is a brilliant boy. Of course he knows how much money he has. To the penny. Our Alex was like that too. From when he was about 3 I could ask him how much something would cost when we checked out. As long as he knew the price or sometimes prices if I had several things, he could figure the tax in his head to the penny and tell me exactly what I owed. I thought for sure he would do something with numbers when he grew up, but no, it's languages all the way with that boy. Well, I guess he's a man now at almost 33! WOW! When did that happen?
Take care my friend and breathe, breathe, breathe.
Blessings and hugs,
Betsy

Hello you, lovely to see you popping by, and sorry you are still so busy. You really mustn't feel any pressure to be online, just look after yourself and try and take it easy if you can. Lovely job on the cardigan, I am going to check out the Remix yarn. I'm always looking at cardigan patterns, one day I will actually take the plunge and knit one :) Hope you have a good weekend. CJ xx

Lovely sweater! I love a good cardigan. I have always wanted a red one and I might have to go give that pattern a look when I get my other sweaters off the needles.

Love your sweater! I don't know how you have time to even sit down and knit. Superwoman! :-)

What does LB do with his money from the Tooth Fairy (and any other money he may get)...does he have any particular toys he likes? With my youngest son, it was always a new Hotwheels car!

Tooth Fairies have had to adapt to the times and they can be quite generous nowadays; so glad LB's got the saving habit. Has he anything in mind that he is saving for? I do like the cardigan and it is a very versatile colour. I really don't know where I would be without my crochet it is so stress relieving so I know how you feel. It has started to get chilly here now and I have dug out my winter woollies. Take all the time you need Mere I so understand :-). Take care. Amanda x

So glad you are able to knit and that brings you back down when stressed. Love the sweater. At least if the coin falls behind, he knows where it is and no one can get at it!

Your sweater is beautiful and the fifth one you have made, that is a keeper!
Littles, tooth varies and money- so very cute.
Hope you find some calmness, I know there are life's season where it feels elusive.

That's so funny that Buddy knows to the penny how much money he has. Great knitting...

Good for Buddy knowing how much money he has. I've lost track, how old is he now? Was wondering due to the tooth. You can't beat a gray sweater, as it goes with everything. This looks a bit longer than many cardigans which I like. I no longer wear slacks or jeans, only leggings; so need longer tops. Not that that really hides all the bulges, but it helps. Hope things calm down for you and looking forward to hearing from.

I like your sweater, it looks a nice colour... go with anything I'm sure. In the UK people would call it a cardigan, though many call it a Cardi which is just weird. Everything is shortened nowadays. I've probably told you before, my son's set up a time lapse video on their tablet one year... they caught the tooth fairy red handed sneaking 50p under the pillow. How they laughed and still do. They're 19 and 2q yrs old now. Take care and keep laughing at life. Cathy x
